Afternoon Resident
West Midlands Police, including your local PCSOs, attended the City of Wolverhampton College open day on Wednesday 21 January 2026 at the Wellington Road campus in Bilston. The event focused on recruitment and community engagement, providing prospective students with insights into various policing careers. Event Highlights Personnel Present: Officers from neighbourhood teams (Wolverhampton City Centre and Wednesfield), the Drone Unit, Offender Management, and Roads Policing. Interactive Demonstrations: Students participated in hands-on activities, including exploring drone technology, seeing how "stingers" (tire deflation devices) are deployed, and learning how roadside breathalysers work. Career Guidance: More than 100 people met with officers and PCSOs to discuss daily life in the force and various entry routes, such as the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA). A fantastic event all round and well attended. Upcoming Open Events For those who missed the January session, the college has scheduled further open events for 2026: Wednesday 22 April 2026 (4:00 PM – 7:00 PM) Saturday 13 June 2026 (10:00 AM – 2:00 PM) You can find more information or register for future events on the City of Wolverhampton College Events Page. | ||
